Overdose Awareness

International Overdose Awareness Day 2021

In partnership with International Overdose Awareness Day, the Port Credit BIA will be hosting a gathering consisting of live speakers, to remember our lost loved ones, to raise awareness of the Opioid Crisis and put an end to the stigma.

International Overdose Awareness Day 2021

Stigma makes it harder to reach out for help. We can make it easier for people to get support by letting them know they are not alone, and that substance use does not define who they are. Addiction is a treatable medical condition, not a choice.

“Between January and December 2020, there were 6,214 apparent opioid-related deaths, or nearly 17 deaths per day, of which 96% were accidental”. (www.canada.ca)

Join us on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 at Don Rowing club (25 Front St N, Mississauga, ON L5H 2E1) from 7 PM to 8 PM.
