I have been an active member of the Port Credit Community since 2009, both as a resident and business owner of Hagel Lawfirm. I decided to join the BIA in 2022 to be more involved and influence the changes made in our community. I am a strong advocate for local businesses, and I would like to be a voice for them. I understand the difficulty of not being heard as a small business, and that is exactly why I wanted to be on the board of directors of the Port Credit BIA.
As an immigrant who grew new roots in Canada, I feel it is my time to give back to my community as a BIA director. I look to the Port Credit community with complete admiration for the open arms that have been extended to me with the support of my business, and I would like to do the same for others. The pandemic has posed major challenges for small businesses. I believe it is even more important now to be an advocate for local business owners, and I look forward to becoming more involved in the community as life returns to normal. I thank all the wonderful neighbours and business owners of Port Credit who have made my experience here memorable, and I will continue to listen to and support businesses in our community, as a director of the Port Credit BIA.
